ThisSchoolLunchProgramUSAisveryimportantinboostingchildren'shealth andacademicsuccessasitguaranteesthateverystudent,fromwhatever householdeconomiclevel,hasaccesstogoodmeals.Fromprovidingwell balancedmealstoencouragingimprovedeatinghabits,theschoollunch programisavital componentoftheeducationalprocess. OriginallystartedundertheNationalSchoolLunchActof1946,theinitiative seekstoprovidepublicandnonprofitprivateschoolstudentswithlow-cost, nutritionallyadequatemeals,eitherfreeorsubsidized.Originallydesignedto advanceAmericanchildren'shealthandwelfare,theSchoolLunchProgramhas changeddramaticallytoservemillionsofkidsnationwide.
