  3. Procedure Preparation • The first step is to set up for the procedure • The next step is to prepare the patient • The final step is to apply the proper protective equipment

  4. Performing the procedure • Cutting the skin cancer out • Stop any possible bleeding • Stitch the area back together

  5. After the procedure • Cleaning/bandaging the surgical site • Explain the care instructions to the patient • Cleaning the surgical tray and processing the specimen

  6. Basic steps of excising skin cancer • There are 3 basic steps in preparing for a skin cancer excision • For the most part, the procedure is fast and simple • 3 simple steps are required after the excision TREATING SKIN CANCER IS NOT AS BAD AS IT SEEMS!
