  3. ELA Goal • I want your children to become avid readers and writers. This requires daily commitment from both the teacher and parent(s). Like the well known proverb states: “It takes a village to raise a child.” I look forward to your assistance with helping me to help your child reach his or her fullest potential. • What are the goals for Languae Arts?

  4. Supplies Needed for class • Blue or black pens ONLY! • 1 section in your 3” binder for ELA • A blue spiral notebook • Agenda Book • Loose leaf/notebook paper • Glue • Personal 3 hole punch • Public Library Card • What supplies do I need for your class?

  5. Absent/Missed work Policy • As soon as the student enters the classroom, he/she should go directly to the “Missed Work” board. They should read the chart, and take any materials that are in the days folder that they missed. This makes it easy for them to see what they missed. It is up to the student to ask any questions if something is not clear to them. • What is the policy for makeup work?

  7. homework • Every night students MUST read for at least 20 minutes and record the number of pages read on their reading log. • Students must also review information learned that day in class to be prepared for upcoming quizzes/tests. • Parents, please make sure your child is working on something from each of his/her classes every night! • What is the daily homework in Mrs. Redus’ ELA class?
