  3. Dahlia x hybridaDahlia • Tuberous, herbaceous perennial • Heavy leafed stems ranging from 12” tall to 6 – 7’ tall • Colors in all hues except blue • Usually unscented • Native to Mexico and Central America • Head flower blooms early summer

  4. GladiolusSword Lily • Perennial bulbs in the Iris family, corm • Height 2’- 6’ • Flowers in variety of colors and contrasting markings • Large flower spike that is one sided • Each flower has 2 leathery, green bracts

Amaryllis belladonnaAmaryllis • Fleshy bulb • Grown in containers usually inside but could be done outside with the right temps • Easy to grow • Likes temps from 68 – 70 degrees • Blooms in 7-10 weeks from planting • Needs good light and a little heat. • Blooms in many colors • When done blooming continue to grow the foliage through the fall, then cut back to 2” and dig the bulb up and store it for the winter in 40-50 deg for a minimum of 6 weeks before planting again. • Used often for holiday flowers

Antirrhinum majusSnapdragon • They get their names from squeezing their flowers and you will see the jaws of the dragon close • Cool season annual blooming in the spring • Self seed in the landscape if not dead headed so they can return year after year. • Part Sun to Full Sun • Height 1’ – 8’, width 6” – 12” • Variety of colors, blooms 2nd time in fall • Makes great cut flowers
