What is Hydraulics • Hydraulics engineering is a sub-discipline of civil engineering that is concerned with the movement of fluids usually water or sewage.
Where do we see Hydraulics • We usually see hydraulics used in the construction of bridges, dams, canals, it is also used in car brake systems and airplanes.
Hydraulic System • A hydraulic system is used to multiply an exerted force, and to generate maximum energy to be used, to perform a desired function.
The Basic Idea In a simple hydraulic system: Force that is applied at one point is transmitted to another point using an incompressible fluid, which is usually a oil.
Conclusion • In conclusion I would like to leave you with some of the benefits of using an hydraulic system. The first would have to be that we are able to adjust the amount of force by the design of the driving piston, and the other benefit I would like to leave you with is the large amount of power that can be generated using a hydraulic system.
