Phaedrus’ Fables • A fable is a story in which animals speak and act like human beings. • Usually the fable illustrates a moral. • The most famous writer of fables was the Greek writer, Aesop. • During the age of the emperor Augustus, the Latin writer Phaedrus translated these fables to Latin poetry.
