General informationaboutservice - The Republic of Croatia is the founder of the Service, and the rights and obligations of the founder are transfered to the Ministry of Agriculture- It is a public institution for agricultural advisory activity in agriculture, rural development and fisheries, and operates through a central office and branch offices in regional governmental units - service is organized through the sectors and departments- the Department of Fisheries is located in the Department of specialist programs and projects

  3. PRESENT STATE • Head of Department manages and deals with area of mariculture and sea fishing • on the continental region two consultants deal with the area of freshwater farming and fishing • plan is to employ another 3 consultants

  4. GENERAL OBJECTIVES • Increasing the competitiveness of companies in the fishing industry • More efficient use of national and EU funds • Professional education and training of subjects in the fishing industry

Increasing the competitiveness of companies in the fishing industry • Technical and technological improvement and increased profit of companies in the fishing industry • Improving the processing and marketing of fisheries products • Strengthening various forms of interest associations and organizations in fishery

  7. More efficient use of national and EU funds • Increased awareness of potential beneficiaries of EU and national funds • The eligibility verification of potential users • Processing of applications and user requirements, and monitoring of users

  11. GENERAL OBJECTIVES SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES • Integrating small family fish farms inthesystemof freshwater aquaculture - Strengthening the sector of fisheries through associations (establishment of producer organizations)
