  3. Agenda Notebook Students were given an agenda notebook at the beginning of the school year. These will be used to record daily assignments, class projects, important dates, school functions, and especially for communication with parents.

  4. Homework Policy • We expect our students to strive for excellence both in and out of the classrooms. • For students to receive credit, assignments must be completed by the due dates.

Language Arts READING • Holt Readers and Literature Book • Literature Units • Sixth Grade-Maniac Magee, A View from Saturday, The Egypt Game • Advanced Language Arts-Martian Chronicles, Stories from Shakespeare, A Night to Remember • Book Report Projects-There will be 3 book reports. The due dates are posted on my website.

  13. Language Arts GRADING Grading in Language Arts is normalized. • Tests/Quizzes 100 points • Homework 50-75 points • Class work 75 points • Projects Rubric scoring, worth 2 class assignments (150 points)

  17. Field Trip / Activities • Our field trips will be determined based on funding at a later date. • Please complete the survey and place in the box at the back of the MPR

  18. Tax Credit Available Under Arizona State Law ARS43-1089.01, Arizona taxpayer can get a dollar-for-dollar tax credit. You do not have to have a child in a public school in order to receive this credit. Parents, grandparents, relatives, friends, etc. are included.

  19. Tax Credit Available • Under the provisions of SB 1529 individuals may donate: • $200 per year if filing as single, or married filing separate returns • $400 per year for married couples filing a joint return • $200 each for a husband and wife who file separate returns for a taxable year in which they could have file a joint return

  20. Tax Credit Available As you send in your donations for this year, please remember that it may be used as a tax credit on your state income tax. Field trips and athletics are examples of taxable donations. A receipt will be provided for tax purposes.

  21. Volunteers Please turn the completed form into your child’s Academic Lab teacher.

  22. Supply Donations • We are always grateful for supply donations. Contributions can be made to any Academic Lab teacher. ITEMS NEEDED: tissues writing paper pencils and pencil-tip erasers disinfectant wipes
