Final IDD Proposal Kelley Buell David Collins Alex S. Vélez Lisa Ziska-Marchand Team Short Circuit
Introduction • Training unit to introduce users to EventOMatic (EoM) software plug-in that works with Raiser’s Edge (RE). • Participants will demonstrate the ability to: • use EoM as an event management tool by loading the program • list the most relevant features to them, i.e. customize columns, enter RSVP data, add guests to an already listed event participant • open menus • export data • create custom filters
3. Using office computers and accessories, CSUMB staff and student assistants will perform a column customization to add fields by right clicking on a “column header” and selecting “customize columns” to configure which columns are to be displayed within the EventOMatic program. 4. Using office computers and accessories, CSUMB staff and student assistants will accurately enter and/or update event participant information in the EventOMatic database from an RSVP card returned by the participant. Goals 1.Using office computers and accessories, CSUMB staff and student assistants will utilize the job aid/instructional manual provided to launch the EventOMatic program. 2.Using office computers and accessories, CSUMB staff and student assistants will right-click on the name list to bring up the “Menu” options and recognize the the appropriate menu item (“Select Participant” or “Add Guest”) within the EventOMatic program.
Materials: Design and Development • Job aids • An outline • Checklist Participants and the instructor will discuss the instructional supportdocuments and the instructor can clarify any questions or misconceptions.
Materials: Utilization Using a hypothetical event and sample RSVP cards and/or emails, participants will be required to enter the data into the system. The instructor will guide them through the process for the first few RSVP cards, demonstrating how to use the information and instructional support tools that were provided. When ready, participants will begin to enter the data on their own, using the support tools provided.
Evaluation Type of evaluation: One to One We selected the “one-to-one” phase of formative evaluation. The EventOMatic training is typically going to be used at intermittent times with small groups of 1-3 learners, so this phase will be ideal for our purposes. Who will participate: Since this would be a one to one evaluation we will have one of the staff members who is already familiar with the software review the plan and test out some of the assessments to get feedback from an expert point of view.
Evaluation Information needed: Do the learners understand the instructions? Are the materials sequenced logically? Do the learners know what to do during practice and assessments? Can learners read the text and graphical material. Tools and Methods: Use of a questionnaire to obtain the information and interview the learners as a method. After completion of the final assessment users will be given a list of 3 upcoming events of different types. They will be asked to consider what kind of information will be tracked for that event and where it should be entered. Learners will also be asked for suggestions for improving the training for the next class of users and to explain why they made that suggestion.
Summative Evaluation • Yes/No questions • Fill in the blanks • Multiple Choice • Comment Box
Management of the project • Group IDD proposal was done collaboratively in a Google Doc • Met in person with Lisa, our SME, so she could brief us on the nuances of the EventOMatic software and what the training was needed for (the performance gap). Together, we were able to create the objectives for the training. Once the objectives were established, we were then able to meet using the chat feature within the Google Doc to write out the proposal. Each member of the team worked on the document individually and then we finalized and edited the proposal as a group
