  2. Root Word—chron Meaning—time

  3. Modern Word:chronological—arranged in order of time or sequence. Sentence: The grades are in chronological order by date. Part of Speech: ADJECTIVE

  4. Modern Word:chronicle—a detailed narrative record or report. Sentence: You really need a chronicle of what happened. Part of Speech: NOUN

  5. Modern Word:chronic—continuing for a long time. Sentence: My grandfather had chronic cancer for years. Part of Speech: ADJECTIVE

  6. Root Word—ped/pod Meaning—foot

  7. Modern Word:impede—to slow down. Sentence: The cop had to impede me when I was speeding. Part of Speech: VERB

  8. Modern Word:peddler—one who travels by foot to sell items. Sentence: A peddler used to sell things door to door. Part of Speech: NOUN

  9. Modern Word:pedestrian—walking; on foot. Part of Speech: NOUN Sentence: Be careful when you are a pedestrian.
