What is a landlady? A woman who runs an inn or rents rooms to people. “Landlady” often refers to an older woman who is generally friendly.
Where is Bath, England? Located in the south of England, Bath was a popular vacation spot, especially in the past. People often visited for the spas and to “take in the water.” The following slides show the city of Bath.

Suddenly, in a downstairs window that was brilliantly illuminated by a street lamp not six yards away, Billy caught sight of a printed notice propped up against the glass in one of the upper panes.
