Negation. NEGATION. It takes two words to make a verb negative in French: ne and pas . Put ne before the verb and pas after it. Jérémy ne danse pas . Tu ne joues pas au tennis. Jérémy does not ( doesn’t ) dance . You do not ( don’t ) play tennis.

You do not (don’t) playtennis. • Ne becomes N’ before a vowel sound. I do not (don’t) like running. You don’t like to go shopping? • Je n’aimepasle footing. • Vousn’aimezpasfaire du shopping? NE + VERB + PAS
