Taking care of your Roomba 980 Roomba 980 is the most advanced robotic vacuum cleaner from the iRobot family. The vacuum cleaning robot can clean an entire level of your home with just the push of a button. While Roomba needs very little maintenance there are a few things you need to follow to keep Roomba 980 running at its peak performance.
Caster Wheel • Remove the caster wheel by firmly pulling it from the robot. • Clear the debris from the inside of the wheel cavity. • Dirt or debris could restrict the motion of the spin wheel. In such cases, remove the wheel from axis and then remove any dirt or hair wrapped around the axle.
Side Brush • Remove the side brush with the help of coin or screwdriver (when the side brush motion is obstructed) • Remove and clean the brush and brush post. Cliff sensor, Charging Contacts & Contacts at Home Base • Wipe these points with clean dry cloth
iAdapt Camera and Floor tracking sensor • Use soft cotton cloth or microfiber to wipe the clear window on Roomba’s top surface. • Use cloth which is dampened with water or screen cleaning solution for cleaning the camera. • Use clean, dry microfiber or soft cotton cloth for cleaning the floor sensor (located at the bottom). Note - Don’t spray cleaning solution directly onto the robot.
