  3. “Traditional” Steps (connected to Chapters 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, & 7) • Run Windows updates (and set to update automatically • Remove adware, malware, spyware • Install/run antivirus software • Run disk cleanup • All Programs>Accessories>System Tools • Defrag hard drive • Clear Internet browsing history • Registry cleaner (controversy regarding whether necessary or not)

User profile cannot be loaded. • Solution: edit the registry • Be careful when editing the registry; possible to make a mistake that causes bigger problems
