North Carolina Adult ESOL Specialty Certificate:Getting Started • Step-by-step instructions can be found on the NCCCS College and Career Readiness website at: • http://www.nccommunitycolleges.edu/Basic_Skills/professional_development.htm • Getting Started • Complete the online, self-paced Second Language Acquisition course and any one online ELL-U strand. You are eligible to attend the corresponding face-to-face ESOL course. Then keep working on the other online ELL-U courses.

North Carolina Adult ESOL Specialty Certificate:Getting Started (continued) • Be sure to place your ELL-U Certificates of Completion in Dropbox so that we know you are ready to attend f2f/CEU credit class. • Register by the due date for your face-to-face CEU ESOL course via the NCCCS Training Calendar at http://www.nccommunitycolleges.edu/Basic_Skills/trainingCalendar.htm. • After completing the Gateway course and Strands A – D, you are awarded the NC Adult ESOL Specialty Certificate!
