Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching Each year, since 1983, the President of the United States recognizes outstanding kindergarten–6th grade or 7th–12th-grade mathematics and science teachers by bestowing upon them the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST). The 2010 PAEMST program will honor kindergarten – 6th grade science with a $10,000 award and recognition ceremonies in Washington, DC. Opportunities NanoTeach is recruiting teachers for a year-long, nationwide pilot program starting in the summer of 2010. Utilizing the Designing Effective Science Instruction (DESI) framework, teachers will learn to integrate nanoscience and technology content (NS&T) into their existing curricula.
