Embracing an innovative "Out of the Box" concept for 2012 to foster a culture of learning and enhance academic achievement in the classroom. We explore strategies to improve students' employability through internal research and observations, focusing on soft skills development. Starting from 1st year orientation, we emphasize on behavior modeling and consistent reinforcement of expected conduct to shape a more disciplined and responsible student body. By integrating technology and social media, we aim to transition to a paperless institution, facilitating a more engaging and effective learning environment.

ADC/FTLRosebank CollegeBraamfontein An “Out of the Box” concept we plan for 2012 to develop a culture of learning and create academic excellence in the classroom
Internal Research and what we observe • Students attitude towards staff and each other • How students present themselves (in clothes and talk) • Not taking responsibility for their actions/lives • Time management • General discipline • National Office identified the same problem when sending students for job interviews
HOW???? • Start in 1st year – Orientation week • In class – emphasis on the theme of the month (first 5min) • Be consistent and persistent by “modeling the way” with regards to the expected behaviour
What can we achieve? • Our students will be more employable • This will assist us in attaining the group’s strategic business intentions, which include amongst others; inculcatinghigh ethical values. • Better discipline on campus • Creating a culture of learning will be more achievable
Innovation in the Class Room • Integrating Technology • Social Media as a platform to facilitate learning • Transition to a paperless institution
