  1. PRODUCTION WORK The evaluation

  2. The exam board says: • Outline and justify the target audience for the production – and explain HOW the audience has been targeted. • Evaluate the production, summarising its strengths and weaknesses; preferably by comparing it with similar products.

  3. Explain WHO your target audience is. Justify this audience and explain HOW your production has been constructed to appeal to them. You may also be able to link in to uses and gratifications theory and other audience theories (see wiki). Evaluate your production. You should:  Ensure that you are critically reflecting on your work  Ask a sample of your target audience for their opinion  Compare your production with the texts (or other, similar ones) you analysed as part of your initial research. Do this by exploring its strengths and weaknesses:- Explore its strengths: (for example)  What have you done well/effectively?  You could ask other people for their views too.  Compare it with one or two existing products and highlight some key features. Then: explore its weaknesses: (for example)  What technical problems did you encounter?  What doesn’t work well? Why not?  What do other people think doesn’t work? Why? Finally explain what you could do to improve your production – cross reference to existing products.
