Major components of Lean Culture Leader Standard Work Daily Accountability Visual Control Why Leader Standard Work? Need management support to sustain changes from improvement efforts Standardizes across cells and across Division to reduce variation Highlights gaps – where something didn’t get done Supports Lean by showing that leadership will do it as well Puts highest level of focus on processes – leadership’s primary responsibility is to ensure processes are performing as expected, and results will follow Our goal – account for about 50% of Cell Manager’s time, lower percentages for upper management Leader Standard Work
Cell Managers will submit each week to Operations Managers – review for any misses or notes that need action Changes – for Cell Managers, must be agreed on by both Operations Managers and CI Manager Multi-level redundancy built-in +QDIP Boards Reviewed by Cell Managers with technicians Walk-around with Cell Managers and Operations Managers Periodic walks with Site Leader Shop Floor time – at all levels Operating System for Leader Standard Work
