SKILLS PLANNING - 2010-2011 • Development of a SSP; identification of scarce skills • Updating and distribution of Sector Skills Guide • “Implementation” of Skills Forecasting Tool • ABET: 600 employees to enter; 420 to complete • 200 Bursaries for employees • 450 employees on learnerships; 450 unemployed people • 700 employees on skills programmes • Monitoring and evaluation of learning programmes • Grant recovery • Tracking of unemployed learners

ETQA HIGHLIGHTS 2009 • The technical seminars hosted by the FoodBev SETA in Cape Town and Johannesburg • The FoodBev SETA / Edexcel partnership • Monitoring and moderation activities in the sector revealed a drop in the quality of training being provided • 2 new ISOE organisations, i.e. Edexcel and SAMPRO, and the signing of a contract with a 3rd, i.e. Winetech, in December 2009. • Bursaries for unemployed learners allocated to the 5 existing ISOE organisations. • Training provider capacity-building project . • Section 13 and Section 28 Apprenticeships • New Venture Creation Project • Beerfest held with University of Pretoria and IBD .
