This is a loom that has been dressed or warped. The red strings are called the warp. The loom and the warp threads provide the structure for the weaving.
The loom is the frame. The warp are the red strings. The weft is the green yarn. The weft is woven under and over the warp. It is this weaving that creates the structure of fabric or textiles.
