How Can You Use Second Life in Your District? • Become familiar with Second Life • Train several colleagues in Second Life • There are many places to initially meet free of charge • Take advantage of professional development already offered. • As SL develops usage among your colleagues, you may want to consider getting your own district sim

  27. Join Groups in Second Life • ISTE • American Library Association • Librarians of Second Life (IM Elaine Tulip for an invitation) • Search “Groups” tab to find groups that interest you. You will receive announcements about upcoming events.

  28. Visit Places in Second Life Search “Places” tab to find locations to visit. Teleport to the selected location. Create a landmark if you would like to return.

  30. Second Life’s main grid is for persons 18 years or older. It is not intended for use with students. Educators use SL to participate in virtual college courses, to attend professional development and meetings, to interact with colleagues, and to identify real-world resources. Corporations use SL for virtual meetings and employee training. SL has in-world special interest groups, professional organizations, support groups, concerts, museums, libraries, and entertainment establishments.
