FY 2012 Operations budget includes: $122M for Air Traffic Controller pay increases Additional offsets required in non-pay to cover total ATO payroll FY 2013 Operations budget request includes: $64M for contract pay raises Covers ATC pay increases, Support Staff Contract and NATCA Multi-Unit Agreement. $21M for one additional compensable day in the upcoming fiscal year $20M to fund base salary increases - 0.5% $10M to accelerate the implementation of the Performance Based Navigation (PBN) initiative. $6.2M for OAPM and $3.2M for NAV lean ($49M) in administrative cost efficiencies FY2012 & FY2013 ATO Operations

6. Air Traffic Controller (ATC) Workforce In FY2012, the FAA expects to hire 981 new controllers The economic down-turn has led to lower air traffic operations as well as lower forecasted attrition. Operations are down 23% since their peak in 2000 and are not expected to return in the near term. These conditions may allow reductions in the number of new hires planned in FY2012 while still ensuring enough trained controllers meet projected demands
