  2. Applied Engineering Technology EducationCareer Pathway Project http://www.technology.eku.edu/stem.pdf

  3. Applied Engineering Technology EducationCareer Pathway Project Why? To prepare students for greater college and career readiness through early engagement in a STEM-enriched curriculum. To provide a locally/regionally defined and structured curriculum for Engineering/ Technology Education. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)

  4. The Products • Career Pathway / Program of Study • STEM Curriculum Maps • Enrichment Activities • Integrated STEM Lessons • ETE Curriculum Guides / Lessons

  10. Curriculum Alignment/Coordination Map

  11. Curriculum Alignment/Coordination Map

  12. Applied Engineering Technology Education Career PathwayCurriculum Alignment/Coordination Map = Sticking Point: A commonly known point within a given course of study where students regularly experience difficulty with the subject matter. = Curricular Crosslink: An occurrence in close time proximity where two or more sticking points share a common theme between disciplines.

  13. Enrichment Activities • Science • Sticking Points • Unit Challenges/Projects • Math • Sticking Points • Unit Challenges/Projects • Engineering Technology Education • Sticking Points • Unit Challenges/Projects Enrichment Activities focus on discipline-specific sticking points and draw supporting (enrichment) content from the other STEM disciplines.

  14. Integrated STEM Lessons • STEM • Science • Math • Engineering Technology Education Integrated STEM Lessons focus on the curricular crosslink’s between sticking points that support a full integration of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics into a truly unified whole; that is, STEM, not S+T+E+M.
