  3. ANSWER 4R1 3C13 What does the quotient 4 and reminder1 represent?

  4. Should the one stick be ignored? NO ! One way to do this is to divide the remainder among the 3 students. On your slates draw a rectangle. Divide it into thirds. Label each section 1/3.

  5. Therefore, each student will receive 4 sticks of gum. We call this a mixed number.

  6. Four brother are given 35 fruit bars. They agree to share the bars equally. How many fruit bars will each boy get? Please draw a picture on your slates. Example #2

  7. Each brother gets 8 fruit bars but there are 3 fruit bars left over. How can we DIVIDE the last three fruit bars evenly?

  8. DRAW !! Make the remainder the numerator of the fraction. 3 Make the divisor the denominator of the fraction. 4
