  2. Philippians 3:18-21 18 For, as I have often told you before and now tell you again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. 19 Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is set on earthly things. 20 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.

  3. Earthly Mindset • Materially motivated • Product of the environment • People pleaser • Controlled by your appetite • Self -centered

  4. The earth is our assignment, but it is not our place of origin. The earth is our dwelling place, but it is not our home. God did not design the human race to be dominated by anything in the earthly realm. Your flesh man is earthly, therefore, your body is always pulling you towards that which is earthly.

  5. Romans 8:5For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6For to be carnally minded [is] death; but to be spiritually minded [is] life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind [is] enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

  6. Hebrews 11:13-16 13 All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance, admitting that they were foreigners and strangers on earth. 14 People who say such things show that they are looking for a country of their own.

  7. 15 If they had been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had opportunity to return. 16 Instead, they were longing for a better country—a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.

  8. Colossians 3:1-3 1 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.

  9. 4 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. 5 Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.

  10. Activating Heavenly Citizenship • Have a consistent and continual prayer life. • Live a lifestyle of praise and possess a heart of worship. • Speak God’s word over your life, your family, and every situation. • Create a heavenly atmosphere. • Work the works you were sent to do. • You must trust, believe, and follow God. • Desire to gain deeper knowledge of him daily.
