Standards and structures of initial training for history teachers Topics for further research: • Analyze the relationship between • The disciplines History and Pedagogy/General Didactics • ITT and in-service teacher training • ITT and the size of student groups • Analyze the implications of • History as a separate subject and history as a combination subject (such as social studies, civics, humanities, languages, geography etc.) • The different organization models

  3. Standards and structures in history didactics Recommendations: • A European glossary/lexicon of history didactic concepts, plus epistemology • Develop a basic European history didactics curriculum (at least a core module) • Develop history teaching in a way that promotes lifelong learning and active learning

  4. Multicultural perspectives in history teaching • Research on ideas of citizenship from a world history perspective • Analyze the differences in the starting conditions of beginning teacher trainees

  5. E-learning and media for history teaching • Inventory of databases on E-learning platforms • Develop an Internet site on E-learning platforms and history • Organize seminars on how to use E-learning platforms as an initial history teacher training tool • How to support teacher trainers in these issues?
