Source & Rational of Equipment • Made possible through FY03 Department of Justice Homeland Security grant • A Joint Working Group decided at the state level, that Fire Departments were in need of improved DECON capabilities in case of a CBRNE event. • Standard equipment on all first out engines in each station.

  3. Hunterdon Distribution • Hunterdon County Fire received funding to purchase DECON equipment along with bags for: • 2 bags for each first out engine in each station. • *NOTE: Information on number of engines was obtained from 2004 Fire Equipment survey from the County Fire Marshal’s Office.

  4. Each Kit Contains • 4- complete sets of Level B PPE: • 4 suits • 4 pair of inner gloves • 4 pair of outer gloves • 4 pair of Duck Boots • 4 rolls of duct tape

  6. WARNINGS • This kit is designed to be used by those trained to the operational level of Hazmat. • To be used for decontamination procedures only. • DO NOT REUSE • It is NOT for use above your level of training.

  7. Do NOT use to enter into a contaminated or unknown area Do NOT remove while in a contaminated or unknown atmosphere Be sure to DECON yourself before leaving the area. Do not reuse the equipment. WARNINGS Con’t

  8. AGENCY RESPONSIBLITY • Place kits into response engines • Replace equipment once used • Ensure members are trained in usage of the equipment though this online module • Remind members of location and proper usage • Have available for use at special events, standby’s, etc
