We Need to Know the Following Before we can Determine What PPE to Wear. • What form is the contaminant? • How toxic is the substance? • What is the individual’s sensitivity to the hazard? • Can you taste or smell the contaminant so you can tell if there has been a breakthrough? • What is the concentration of the substance? • How long will the worker be exposed to the substance?
Risk Assessment 1. What are the harmful effects of the materials or chemicals? 2. What form is it in? 3. What other dangers are involved? 4. How do the conditions of work allow the material to come in contact with the workers?
