The Basics • Google Docs is a set of web-based tools that are reminiscent of Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Powerpoint, Excel, etc). All the work you do on GD is stored online, meaning that you can access it from any internet-capable computer in the world. • You can choose to share your work with others, authorizing them to edit your work.
Colleague Collaboration • The collaborative feature of Google Docs lets multiple users make changes to a document in real time. • GD also allows all users to track the revision history of a document. • These features seem tailor-made for establishing common assessments in our PLCs.

Collecting Student Data • GD gives you the ability to create interactive FORMS you can link to or embed in a website. • Results are collected into an Excel-type spreadsheet. This makes it easy to import assessment data into data collection programs like Performance Matters. • You can apply Excel formulas to grade multiple choice responses automatically. LINK
