  3. COOPERATION EU15 & NEM: • Ways of cooperation: getting in touch with entities from third countries, municipalities with historical ties, etc. • Twinnings by means of another nets: Partenalia Network, ACTE and Arco Latino. • European projects: they can come up after the twinnings.

  4. TOWN TWINNING EXPERIENCES: • Differences between EU twinnings and traditional ones: Traditional twinnings can become twinnings that promote active European citizenship. • Involvement of politicians and citizens: Discrepancy about the role of the elect representatives in the twinnings. • Language barriers?: They do exist and make difficult the communication in the preparatory stage and the stage of execution. • Evident effects after twinning: Continuity of the relations between the towns, experiences exchange, future cooperation, etc.

TOWN TWINNING PROGRAM EVALUATION: • CRITICAL REFLECTIONS: “To approach the Europe of the citizens to the citizenship” “There’s only one Europe” “Town twinning is not only business exchange” “We must achieve that the feeling of membership to Europe become common among the European citizens” “Town twinning make easier this first contact towards cooperation” “We mustn’t be rash in choosing a town to twin with”
