“Us and Them” by David Sedaris • As you read, mark the text (highlight and write in the margins) for examples of satirical elements: hyperbole, irony, wit. Also, note passages that you find humorous. After reading it once, answer the following question at the end of the exerpt: How does the use of the satirical elements add to the satire in the text? • Complete the chart attached on pg. 79.
