What Is Carbon Footprint? • Carbon Footprint is the amount of CO2 (carbon dioxide) which was produced by the activities one has done that affects the environment, in a certain period of time. • Here is a chart describing activities which would be counted in carbon footprint:
Examples of Carbon Footprint • For example the fuel being burned from a car and the driving distance is a part of one’s carbon footprint. • When the house gets heated with oil, gas or coal, then CO2 (CO2 is the chemical symbol for carbon dioxide)is being generated. • The food and goods bought lead to the production of CO2 and carbon footprint.
How Does Carbon Footprint Work? • When one overuses a lot of appliances, then carbon footprint is produced and more energy and money is being wasted. • Many electric appliances “cost” a lot of carbon footprint. • Grocery shopping also uses carbon footprint.
