Definitions • Network: “an extended group of people with similar interests or concerns, who interact and remain in informal contact for mutual assistance or support” ~The American Heritage Dictionary
Network Benefits • Casual connections • Less expensive enrollment dues, currently an option to join National DDNA • Limited accountability with paperwork Networks
Network Challenges • Informal, “loose” connections with National DDNA • Limited opportunities to elicit a strong voice for legislative support both locally and nationally • Limited access to national agency resources- due to smaller membership numbers, no national call list, often only local sponsorship, etc.

Chapter Benefits • Automatic enrollment in National DDNA with state membership • Strength in numbers for special interest groups , sponsors and speakers for DD Nurses • Supports from National DDNA can be improved and more accessible with co-DDNA membership • Free website availability and annual leadership training Chapters
Chapter Challenges • Increase in dues locally by requiring National DDNA membership • Potential increase in time commitment for Executive members in order to maintain DDNA association • Increased accountability with current agenda requirements and paper compliance, (either as a Network or Chapter)
