What is a virtual job fair? A virtual job fair is an online chat based event catered towards the busy job seeker. Attendees are able to chat with a Recruiter from his or her smartphone, computer, or tablet, during a time within the event window that works best for them! How does it work for Attendees? • Register – Create an account and complete the registration form • Explore – View information about our organization and job opportunities • Attend – Log in and join the chat from any device • Chat – Participate in 1-on-1 chats with our recruitment teams *Zendesk requests are limited to Directors and Managers.
How to get started? • We use a platform called Brazen for virtual job fairs • All that is required to request a virtual event is a Zendesk request* with the event date, time, target audience and the names and emails of the recruiters you want on the chat sessions • Recruiters will receive an email from Brazen with instructions once the virtual job fair has been created in the Brazen platform. • There will be a separate email for every timeslot. • Once the event starts, each “attendee” will be able to join the chat booth and will have a 10 minute chat with the recruiters. *Zendesk requests are limited to Directors and Managers.
Tips for running a smooth virtual event • The platform is pretty simple. Just register before the event! Once the event starts you will be able to enter the chat booth. • Each chat is set for 10 minutes long. You can cut the chat short or if you need more time you will be given the option towards the end to add more time. • Recruiters are initially set up to get 1 chat at a time. Recruiters can and are encouraged to increase that up to 4 chats at a time (this is on the upper left side). • After each chat you will be given the chance to mark the next steps you recommend for the candidate and make any notes. Transcripts are available after the event.
Frequently Asked Questions • When are virtual job fairs held? • Typically we like to have 3 solid weeks of advertising time. Please submit your request 4 weeks before the event if at all possible. • What time of day do you schedule the event? • We often recommend morning, afternoon and evening timeslots. • How will I know if the event was successful? • Following the event, your Candidate Engagement Specialist will provide transcripts from the event including next steps for each attendee. • How many attendees are expected to show? • This number will vary greatly depending on the target audience. We will have a good idea of participation a few days before of your event.
