ARE-ON Mission Statement The mission of ARE-ON is to promote, develop and apply advanced communications technologies to support and enhance education, research, public service and economic development. Goals and Objectives: • Facilitate and accelerate the adoption of advanced communications technologies among our members. • Provide reliable, cost effective access to the advanced communication technologies and services required by our members. • Establish a leadership role for ARE-ON members in the use of advanced communications technologies for research, teaching and learning. • Increase collaboration among our members and with regional, national, and international initiatives. • Enhance the abilities of our members to foster economic development opportunities within their service areas. • Secure grant funding to support our mission and goals.

  9. ARE-ON Governance Statement ARE-ON is a high-speed fiber-based optical communications network established and operated by a consortium of public four-year universities in Arkansas. ARE-ON is a state entity governed by the presidents and chancellors of participating institutions, in cooperation with the Arkansas Department of Higher Education.

As demand grows, smaller resources can be placed at other institutions.
