Hypothesis formulation and Discussion Working Hypothesis: Risk, risk behavior, and protective factors interact differently in different developmental environments like families, schools, and particular neighborhoods. This research hypothesizes that both the content and process of parent-child communication differ by schools even though schools share similar demographic and academic profiles.
