Dates: May 8 – June 18, 2014 Price: $ 5,810
What’s Included: • Tuition for 6 credits, • Lodging, and daily meals with a host family, • Cultural and overnight excursions, • Entrance fees/ guided tours, • Tutorial assistance with ISA, • Internet access in the ISA office, • Ground transportation, • International health insurance and • Emergency medical assistance.
What’s Not Included: • Round-trip airfare, • Books, • Additional personal travel, and • Personal expenses.
The Department of Spanish and Portuguese Studies will offer three (7) scholarships of $ 1,000 each to students who apply to the Valencia program. Students will be able to experience the unique culture of Valencia by living with host families while on the program. The homes are located throughout the city within walking distance or via local bus, 10-45 minutes from where classes will be held. Most of our families are made up of individuals who do not speak English. Students are usually housed two to a room. The families will provide three meals per day and laundry service weekly.
The program offers overnight and day excursions to Madrid, Toledo, Gandía, La Albufera, Museums (BellasArtes, Falero, Lladro, etc) and more. There is an optional trip to Barcelona. Plus a series of short trips around Valencia and its beaches.
ISA – International Studies Abroad • Director and their staff are available 24/7 for emergency support. • On-site directors and staff are Spanish nationals. Many hold Master’s or PhDs and have backgrounds in teaching language and working with groups.
