The writing prompt will require students to make a connection to the high school career plan. • Discuss progress on skills with class. • Reflection Sheet stored in homerooms throughout the year
Ninth Grade Assessment Connection to The Career Plan • Ninth Grade Assessment – The reflection activities require students to think about skills, capitalize on their strengths, and address their weaknesses as they move on to high school. • The Career Plan – As sophomores, students complete the Do What You Are Activity, the Career Cluster Finder, and the Career Interest Finder to think about their skills, identify them as strengths or weaknesses, and relate them to possible career choices.
Next Steps • Early March 2013 – Discuss proposal at each middle school Leadership Council meeting or through informal faculty discussions to obtain additional input • By March 15, 2013 – E-mail communication from each building to Dr. Silvious, Mr. Bucher, and Mr. Murtha summarizing input from each school • 9thGrade Assessment Committee decides, based on building input, whether to move forward with the 9thGrade Assessment revision proposal or make alterations to the proposal
