  1. Solar energy Power from the sun! By: Erica Anton & Mason Wise

  2. What is solar energy? • Solar energy is energy we get from the sun • Solar Energy it is radiant energy emitted by the sun

  3. Is it renewable or non- renewable? • Renewable • Solar energy is everywhere as long as the sun is up or behind the moon (it matters about the kind of weather).

  4. Where is solar energy located? How do we recover it? • Solar energy is located in the sun • 2 ways to recover solar energy is with solar panels/solar farms and solar satellites.

  5. Ways we turn solar energy into electricity • A solar panel takes the sun’s energy • A box with a heat trapping, dark bottom, and a glass top captures the sun’s light to make energy.

  6. Who uses solar energy? What is the purpose? • All living things use solar energy. • It is easy to store and it is good for the environment.

  7. What effect does using solar energy have on the environment? • It could cause less pollution • Plants and animals must adapt to “harsh” solar farms (it could disrupt many different ecosystems).

  8. Interesting Facts!!! Advantages *Sun’s energy is free to use *The process is pollution free *Can be used in a wide variety of locations, wherever there is sun. Disadvantages *The cost of the solar panels are expensive. *Only works when the sun is shining

  9. Trend for the future • If we use solar energy/electricity, it could cause less pollution, because you would be using natural resources/sunlight.
