A1: Main goals and tasks • Main objective: detailed plan describing the different lab and field trials. • Decide the test sites to be included. • Scheduled for first 8 month of the project, until the first iteration of the project begins. • Coordinate with other WP. • Task Leader: ???
A1: Deliverables and contributors • The deliverable related to this activity is: WP5D1 Trial Execution plan (01/2005). • Contributors to this activity are: • The different test site contributors: • Belgacom • Elisa • France Telecom • Telefónica I+D... • Services and platform developers: Alcatel, Visonic, Telvent... • WP1 main partner (particularly those involved in the trial support activity).
A1: First steps • Decide the test sites and trials to be done. • Define and plan the different trials and test sites • Services to be included in each (with WP1, WP3). • Size and resources to be included. • Scheduling. • Platform integration calendar. • Testing calendar. • Coordinate with the rest of WP
A1: Belgacom trials • Field trial focused on: • community communications. • virtual interactive communities. • Demonstrator showing the possibilities of service aggregation platform. • Experiments with new connected home/family services will be carried out • Third parties could be also included. • Trial planned using a VDSL pilot network and/or an ADSL access network with capacity up 3 Mb/s. Between 20-30 customers
A1: Elisa trials • Multi-device multimedia community applications as well as home network management and equipment. • Trial planned on ADSL and/or IP-enabled Cable-TV network in combination with wireless solutions. • Elisa test bed and service trial environment. • Elisa Research laboratory and trial environment. • Access to other test beds (Test Bed Finland initiative). • Access to public networks. • Between 10-20 customers. Coordinated with the test-bed Finland initiative.
A1: France Telecom test site • Home demonstration area situated in Lannion premises. • Install all home services and to check their interoperability (technical and usage). • Features: • Telemetry platform able to provide security (alarm management) and comfort (device control and home watching). • OSGi technology enabled on residential gateway. • Multimedia gateway.
A1: Telefónica I+D test site • Install and operate the service aggregator in its facilities. • Test lab to check the platform and services of this project, including aspects as interconnectivity and interoperation. • Demostrator facility: The digital home for user experiences • Emulates a small flat composed of different ambiances. • Residential gateway (OSGi compliant). • Combination of fixed and wireless technologies as network infrastructure.
A1: Platforms and equipment • Alcatel platforms: • HIPP-controller managing the residential gateway and networking elements. • Open Media Suite application platform for hosting and managing the multimedia application layer (???) • Visonic Residential Gateway Platform that will function as a Services Gateways platform at home. • New two-phase strategy. • Telvent equipment: • Gateway operator application, several services, residential gateways, a set of home networks and appliances. • New test Site (???)

A2: Main goals and tasks • Proof of concept of the deployment of the services and applications, providing technical feedback to WP2, WP3 and WP4. • Adapt the bouquet of services to the different needs of the different sites. • Done in simulated environments and labs, to validate the services and management platforms. • The interconnection of the different labs will be set up to build the integrated trial. • Task Leader: Telefónica I+D

A5: First steps • Identify the persons who will be responsible for offering the support (regarding the different components). • Form the different supporting groups, which should be coordinated with the other tasks. • Set the support process to be ready before the beginning of the A2, A3 and A4 tasks within this WP.
