  1. Creating Word Clouds Who Are You?

  2. What is a word cloud? • Using the site www.tagxedo.com you will be creating an image using words to describe yourself to the class. • Here are some examples that have been created using this website!

  3. Drafting • In WORD, select a blank page and number 1-12. Please skip a line so that you have enough room! • You will be answering the following questions with one word and/or phrases. • Write down your thoughts quickly – we will think about word choice when we go back to revise! Remember to BE POSITIVE! Think about all of your GOOD qualities! USE 9 FINGERS TO TYPE THESE! KEEP FINGERS ON HOMEROW! 

  4. 1. What is your full name? Ex: Mary Smith 2. Name 3 things you cannot live without. Think about what you are passionate about. Ex: Bailey, reading, exercising

  5. 3. What is favorite subject? Ex: Reading 4. What is your dream job when you grow up? Ex: Teacher

  6. 5. List 3 words that describe your personality. Ex: silly, outgoing, loud 6.List 3 words that describe your physical appearance. Ex: pretty, blonde, green eyes

  7. 7.What is your favorite color? Ex: blue 8.Where is your favorite place? Ex: Target

  8. 9. List 2 verbs that describe two things you like to do. Ex: run & hike 10.What is your favorite food? Ex: crab legs

  9. 11. What talent has god given you to share with the world? Ex: Singing Voice 12.What blessing in your life are you most thankful for? Ex: My Parents Feel free to add anymore different words or phrases that express who you are as an individual!

Review the questions and make sure they are complete • What is your full name? • Name 3 things you can’t live without. • What is your favorite subject? • What is your dream job when you grow up? • List 3 words that describe your personality. • List 3 words that describe your physical appearance. • What is your favorite color? • Where is your favorite place? • List 2 verbs that describe two things you like to do. • What is your favorite food? • God given talent? • Blessing you are thankful for?

  11. Before you begin on the computer… • Check your spelling! • Check your word choice. Use a thesaurus to think of better descriptive words. • For example: • pretty/gorgeous • awesome/remarkable • nice/polite or respectable

Creating your word cloud • Go to www.tagxedo.com • Click “Create”. • Click “Load” in the top left corner. • Type “Your name” in the webpage section. • Type your answers to questions 1-10 in the text box. • If you want a phrase to be together, insert ~ between each word. This will keep the phrase together in the word cloud. (Example: field hockey / field ~ hockey) • Click “Submit”. • Theme – Changes color scheme • Layout – Click “horizontal” • Shape – Changes the shape of your word cloud • Font – Make sure your font is easy to read!

  13. Finishing your word cloud • Click the respin button to change up layout and/or color. • Click “Save”. • Select “250JPG”. • Save to your class word cloud folder. • Open the image in Microsoft Word. • Resize the image to fit an entire page. • Save and I will print in color
