    3. Subject information - Options Philosophy and Ethics Exam board: OCR “Religious Studies B: Philosophy and Ethics”. P&E exams all take place and the end of Year 11. No controlled assessment. History Exam board: OCR History B Year 10 have their modular History exam – paper 1 (45% of GCSE) next June.  Geography Exam board: AQA A UNIT 1 – Physical geography (year 10) – morning of Thursday 14th June -37.5% overall GCSE UNIT 3 – Controlled assessment –(start Year 11)- work in lessons after trip to Sheringham from September to December – 25% overall GCSE UNIT 2 – Human Geography – exam in June 2013 (year 11 -) 37.5% overall GCSE

Subject information - Options Catering Exam board: WJEC Catering GCSE practical exams will take place on Monday 21st May (Mrs Marshall’s group) and Thursday 24th May (Mrs Jones’ group) and this accounts for 20% of their final grade.  The written element of this (Task 1) will commence in April and will be done in lesson time. BTEC Construction Exam board: Edexcel Continuous assessment – 12 units of work over 2 years. Electronic Products, Graphic Products, Resistant Materials GCSE Exam board: AQA 60% Controlled Assessment (probably the most similar to old style coursework when compared to other subject areas) started at an appropriate stage in second half of year 10

    5. Subject information - Options Art   Exam board: Edexcel Exam  - late April of Year 11.  Mock exam – late October year 11. Music Exam board: AQA GCSE Music Unit 4 controlled composition assessment starts around Easter. Drama Exam board: Edexcel Both Controlled Assessments (Unit 1 and 2) occur during year 11 - Unit 1 (October/November) Unit 2 (December/January) Mock Controlled Assessments (Unit 1 and 2) occur during year 10 - Unit 1 (March/April) Unit 2 (May/June) The practical paper happens in year 10 June/July and in year 11 February/May

    6. GCSE PE PE Exam board: Edexcel Theory Exam: 1hour 45 minutes - May 2013 (40% of overall grade). Practical assessment – This usually takes place the week before the Easter holiday in year 11 although can change dependent on the moderators availability.  Pupils will be assessed in 4 different practical activities. These can be performed in the role of a participant, leader or official. This is worth 50% of overall grade. Coursework –This is worth 10% of overall grade and involves an analysis of performance and a six week training plan. This will be started in year 10 after Christmas but will continue throughout the duration of the course.

    7. Dance GCSE  Exam board: AQA Critical Appreciation Unit 1 (usually in March of year 11) Unit 1 written exam is May of Year 11. Set Solo Dance marked externally 20%  Performance Units 2 & 3 Unit 2 - Externally Marked Set Solo Dance Performance 20%  Unit 3 - Controlled Assessments and final external in Group Dance 20% Choreography Units 4a/4b Unit 4a - Controlled Assessments and final external in Solo Choreograpy15% Unit 4b - Controlled Assessments and final external in Group Choreography 25%   Controlled assessments take place during year10 and 11.
