Nature of the Work • As a Real Estate Agent you have a Fiduciary duty to you clients to help buy, sell and rent properties to them and for them. Real Estate Agents work under brokers.
Qualifications • The Requirements to become a Real Estate Sales Person vary by state. All states require you to be at least 18 years old, have a High School Diploma, complete a number of hours of courses and pass an exam to get licensed.
Employment • About 52% of real estate sales agents are self employed. The remainder work in the Real Estate industry and in brokerage offices, leasing offices etc.. Some work from homes and do not have offices or brick and mortar establishments.
Job Outlook • Real Estate Sales agents employment is estimated to grow 11 percent from 2012 to 2022, an average for all occupations. Employment will continue to grow within Real Estate as the Economic Recession turns around and people are able to buy homes again.
Earning Potential • Real Estate Sales Agents make and average of $18.82 and hour. Transfer Plans • I Plan to transfer to Cal State LA. • My first semester as a Junior will be in the Winter of 2014. • I plan to Graduate From Cal State LA Winter of 2016. • I will Earn a BA Degree with an Option in Real Estate.
