Regognition by legislation • 1985 sustainability was first mentioned indirectly in laws governing the Icelandic tourism. • 2005 a new Tourism Act was approved. Guiding principles: • Icelandic culture • Environmental protection • Professionalism • Safeguarding of consumer interests
