  1. U.S. Army Fact Sheet Army Commitment • The ROTC PaYS Program: • The ROTC PaYS program is a recruiting and retention initiative developed to fulfill three primary strategic objectives. First, it provides the peace of mind that comes from knowing that reserve component officers are stable in employment with military friendly organizations upon graduation, commissioning, and branch qualification. Second, the Army can capitalize on the skills gained by young officers in their civilian careers. Third, the Army hopes to achieve a grass roots movement whereby individual Americans feel more connected to Soldiers and their efforts through the relationships developed in a common work environment. • ROTC PaYS Program Objective: • To enhance Army Reserve and Army National Guard officer recruiting productivity by expanding existing partnerships and forging new partnerships with America’s corporations in which the PaYS partner offers the Cadet a preferred, priority job interview during their senior year of college or within 30 days of graduation. • ROTC PaYS Benefit • Provide US Army ROTC Recruiting Operations officers with an additional recruiting and retention incentive. • Provide Army Reserve and Army National Guard officers enhanced employment opportunities and corporate America with qualified and trained personnel. • Improve retention of Lieutenants and Captains in the Army Reserve and Army National Guard by offering career opportunities. • Improve America’s connection to the Army by enhancing the Army Reserve and Army National Guard image in their communities through a relationship with PaYS partners that hire Army Reserve and Army National Guard officers. • Who’s Eligible? The program is available to all Cadets enrolled in Army ROTC who will serve in an Army Reserve Troop Program Unit (TPU) or Army National Guard Unit after graduation and commissioning. • Current Partners:Currently, 22 partners participate with ROTC PaYS including Schneider National, Inc.; USAA; Citigroup; Eastman Chemical; AMTRAK; Hyundai Motors Inc.; EMC² Corporation; Caterpillar Inc.; Raytheon Company; T-Mobile USA; Advanced Technology Services, Inc.; American Systems Corporation; Johnson Controls Inc.; US Cellular Corporation; General Motors Corporation; Sears Holdings Corporation; Harold Zeigler Auto Group; Union Pacific Railroad Company; Brand Energy & Infrastructure Services; Eaton Corporation; St. Petersburg Police Department; and Pierce Distribution Services Company. Additionally, a large number of companies are pursuing partnership with ROTC PaYS or being pursued by Cadet Command. Currently, there are well over 200,000 jobs available to interested Cadets with military friendly companies that see continued military service as a benefit to their organization. • For More Information:Please contact Captain R A Vinson @ ravinson@uncc.edu or 704-687-3740 The Army established the PaYS program as a means to connect America’s Army with Americans through our citizen Soldiers. The Army carefully screens, selects, trains, educates and provides hands-on leadership experience to individuals. Benefits to ROTC Cadets • Cadets will select a potential employer while still in college, and will establish a relationship with their selected PaYS partner while attending college. • Cadets will interview with their selected PaYS partner during their senior year of college. If hired, Second Lieutenants will serve in the Army Reserve or Army National Guard while working for a company that supports their commitment to service. Benefits to Employers The partner will have access to top quality college students without cost to the company had they pursued qualified applicants through companies that specialize in providing qualified applicants to corporations. The partner will receive a prescreened applicant with a current secret security clearance (screening includes physical, moral and academic standards). ROTC PaYS is a strategic partnership program between the Army and a cross section of U.S. industries and public sector agencies. It was developed as a result of the success of the USAREC Pays program and will help the Army attract, train, and retain talented young people seeking entry level and middle management positions with top American companies. https://armypays.com/ October 2008
