For most American colleges and universities, the pendulum has swung from the heyday of growth, prosperity, and public favor to new times that call for institutions to adapt themselves to current, harsher realities….The challenges of institutional change presented by the new environment are daunting. For institutions to be successful, change must be intentional and continuous. ~Peter D Eckel

Strategic Plan • Sustain, Expand and Revitalize Academic Programs, continuing to connect them to career and community • Move Office of Community Engagement to Faculty area • Create and implement a comprehensive development plan to increase the resources and budget for LAC • make better use of our limited resources • Incorporate cutting-edge technology across the campus for students, faculty, staff, and the community • Media Room moved into the Commons FOR STUDENT USE • Improve getting, keeping & supporting students, from first “touch” through graduation & becoming alums • Create a “student centered” campus • CONTINUE BUILDING THE COMMONS TO BE A ONE STOP LEARNING CENTER FOR STUDENTS • Increase LAC’s community Visibility and Outreach • MOVE ADMINISTRATION TO THE NEW BUILDING • Develop a continuous improvement (LEAN) culture as a distinctive feature of LAC • improve organizational performance by standardizing and simplifying the flow of processes • improve THE student experience at LAC by eliminating waste • PROVIDE VALUE TO THE STUDENTS INCREASING BOTH STUDENT AND EMPLOYEE SATISFACTION
