  4. CAWG Old Glider Winch Built on a 1960 F350 crew cab ford chassis with 286 HP V8 and is mostly pneumatic. Two drum with steel cable. Throttle control used a foot pedal.

  8. Winch operation • 16 months and 150 hrs. • Most glider operations on Tuesday afternoons, which net us about 3 hrs. before sundown. About 6 launches per hr. • 35 days of winch operations netted 394 flights. • Just started using the winch for O-rides. • The use of two gliders on winch operation day just started. We see and increase of 2 to 3 launches per hr. • All for low cost.

  9. Winch Training Glider Side of the Rope • For CFIG 10 Flights • Covering normal and low altitude releases. • Simulated crosswind launch with crab angle to normal altitude. • Normal launch to altitude with airborne fast and slow airspeed signals.
