Mini-Banner What is Banner? Banner is a software system that contains valuable student information. It’s a tool that will benefit you as you seek to hire and employ student employees, because it gives you information at your fingertips. Rather than having to call the Student Financial Aid Office to get information (along with every other person on campus trying to hire student employees) you can simply use Banner to get the information you need. Why do I need Banner training? Bannertraining is required before authorization is given to access it. The reason for this is that Banner contains lots of sensitive information. If you only need to access Banner for work-study purposes, special access is given so that you are only able to view certain information. You will not be able to make changes to the information contained in Banner, so have no fear of “messing something up.” Navigation in Banner works differently from the Microsoft Office software you may be used to. This basic navigation tutorial will help you use the program more easily.
