OLTP • Our Banner database instance is currently 350+ Gbytes in size and is comprised of several hundred tables that house Student, HR, and Finance data. • On a typical day, we have approximate 300 active Banner users with at least as many Self Service Banner users (more during registration, grades, etc) • OLTP is On-Line Transaction Processing

  4. ODS – Operation Data Store • The Banner ODS is a real-time copy of the Banner database. • Leverages Oracle Streams technology • The Banner OLTP database has a few views • The BANNER ODS has many views to de-normalize the data
